Realise-Bio supports innovative forms of biomass use in the
border region between Germany and the Netherlands. In this way, the project
promotes the realisation of a circular bioeconomy and recycling economy in the
Germany-Netherlands Interreg area.
The most important instrument for this is the so-called
model projects, which are awarded to German-Dutch cooperation projects that
further develop technologies and processes for the use of biogenic raw
materials.
In addition to the model projects, a cross-border ecosystem
for the circular bioeconomy is being established in Realise-Bio in order to
optimally network competences and partners from both sides of the border. The
aim is to involve all relevant sectors and actors, from research, primary
production, food and feed industry, chemicals, construction and waste management
to municipalities.
The solutions developed in the model projects will not only
be of use within the network. By transferring the knowledge gained into
generally accessible recommendations for action, Realise-Bio will also generate
sustainable added value beyond the partners directly involved.
