This project is based on the findings and results and on the already emerging knowledge network from the INTERREG V A-project Healthy Building Network (HBN). The potential of healthy buildings in combination with themes such as energy transition and circularity is seen and recognised as a future market that will only grow in importance. The themes of health and a healthy living and working environment have become increasingly important (partly due to the Corona pandemic). Through scientific research and the sharing of the generated knowledge within the border region, more and more companies from the construction sector in the region can be inspired to, on the one hand, build and renovate healthily and, on the other hand, orient their economic activities innovatively and sustainably towards the future.
This ‘second’ project phase should achieve the following goals: At least 15 concrete initiatives (via LOI) flesh out the theme of health and well-being in buildings. This can cover several factors such as indoor air quality, temperature, acoustics, light, etc. The results of this process will be continuously communicated by the project via events, website and social media. In addition, the project proactively establishes connections with other actors in the Dutch-German border area (investors, producers, service providers, institutions , governments and other subsidy projects).
In addition to the above aspects, the HBM project will also deliver the following results, among others:
- preparation of guidelines for Healthy Buildings (Healthscore)
- LOIs with investors and manufacturers and service providers
- opportunity map and SWOT analysis,
- new scientific knowledge
- fact sheets
- expert pools in which driven innovations are guided
- positioning of the border region as an innovation region in the field of healthy building.
The project will run until the end of 2026.
