INTERREG V Germany-Netherlands officially completed

13.07.2026

The European Commission has approved the final report on the INTERREG V A programme Germany-Netherlands (2014–2020). This means that the previous funding period has now also been formally and successfully completed.

During the programme period, numerous cross-border projects were implemented, making an important contribution to the economic, social and sustainable development of the German-Dutch border region. Together, businesses, research institutions, public bodies and other organisations developed innovative solutions to shared challenges and strengthened cooperation across national borders.

Although the approval of the final report marks the formal end of the INTERREG V Germany–Netherlands programme, the results achieved and the partnerships established will continue to have an impact far beyond the funding period. Many of these collaborations are being continued and further developed under the current Interreg VI programme. At the same time, the experiences and successes of the previous funding period form an important basis for the preparation of the next programme period, Interreg VII.

The programme would like to thank all project partners, participating organisations and other stakeholders whose dedication contributed to the success of INTERREG V. Their commitment has demonstrated the added value that cross-border cooperation brings to the German-Dutch border region.

We look forward to building on this successful collaboration and continuing to facilitate innovative projects for a strong border region in the future.
