In
\nthe framework of the cross-border cooperation programmes, citizens’ and
\nsmall-scale projects are important and successful instruments with high
\nEuropean added value to remove border and cross-border obstacles, to promote
\ncontacts between people on the ground and to bring border regions and their
\ncitizens closer together. These projects can be implemented within the
\nso-called “Small Project Fund”. A small project fund can be developed
\nin various areas. In the Interreg VI programme Germany-Nederland, there is
\ncurrently a small project fund with the focus areas of education, governance,
\nhealth and people-to-people.
\nSmall Project Fund in the Interreg VI Programme Germany-NederlandThe
\nEuropean Union supports cooperation projects between neighbouring countries.
\nThe Interreg VI Programme Germany-Nederland was created specifically for
\nprojects that focus on cooperation in the German-Dutch border region. In order
\nto make the application procedure for Interreg funds more accessible, the
\nGerman-Dutch Euregios have developed the so-called “Small Project
\nFund” (KPF) in consultation with each other and with the Interreg
\nprogramme partners. This was specially designed for initiatives with a maximum
\nfunding of € 25,000. There is a simplified procedure for smaller activities
\nwith a short duration that are eligible for a lump sum of 750 €.
\nThe small project fund supports projects that focus on the following
\nthematic areas:
\nEducation (e.g. school exchanges, school\/university cooperation,
\nteacher\/professor exchanges, language support, internships).
\nGovernance (promotion of cooperation between public institutions and
\nauthorities)
\nHealth (exchange and networking e.g. of health services, prevention, care – but
\nalso animal health and animal disease control)
\nPeople-to-people (promotion of cooperation between citizens). This results in
\nextensive project opportunities, e.g. in the areas of culture, sport, history
\nand tourism).

\nWho
\ncan submit an application?
\nProject applications can be submitted at any time from the beginning of 2023 by
\nmunicipalities, municipal associations, associations, companies and other legal
\nentities under public and private law and natural persons who are responsible
\nfor initiating or both initiating and implementing a project. Funding is only
\navailable for projects in which German and Dutch partners cooperate with each
\nother.
\nThis is new:
\nA simplified application procedure makes it possible for all associations,
\norganisations and groups to participate. The application procedure is also
\nsimplified because the Small Projects Fund works with lump sums. This means
\nthat the often time-consuming obligation to provide proof in the form of
\ninvoices or bank statements is no longer necessary. Events that usually only
\nlast one day can in future be supported with a lump sum of 750 €. Other
\ninitiatives or projects in the KPF can still be funded with a maximum of 25,000
\n€.<\/p>\n

\ndo I submit an application?
\nFirstly,
\nyou should find out which type of project is suitable for you. You can choose
\nbetween mini-projects (flat-rate funding of €750) and small projects (max.
\nfunding of €25,000). Applications are submitted via the electronic portal
\nkpf.deutschland-nederland.eu.<\/p>\n
